Getting started
Get your first table ready.
A practical checklist for the GM starting a campaign and the players joining it.
Create your account →If you are running the game
- Create your account. Choose a name your players recognize and sign in to GM Console.
- Create a campaign. Give it a name, select the game, and add an optional description. The game sets the character options available to the group.
- Invite your players. Share the campaign's invite code with the people joining on their own devices.
- Add guests. Enter names for anyone using a paper sheet or playing without an account.
- Set the seats. Arrange the roster to match your table and mark who is present before collecting initiative.
You can run the game as GM without creating a player character. Start with the roster and add the rest as the group arrives.
If you are joining as a player
- Get the invite code from your GM. It identifies the campaign you are joining.
- Sign in and join. Use the code from your campaigns page.
- Choose your character. Select an existing character for the same game or create one using the available options.
- Keep the campaign open. Follow the encounter and update your own resources as play requires.
If you prefer not to make an account, ask the GM to add you as a guest instead.
Before the first encounter
Check names, selected characters, attendance, and current hit points. Have players roll initiative using their usual dice, enter the results around the table, and start the fight. Add enemies when needed and advance turns from the GM's controls.
Use the character sheet guide to understand the included level-one foundation. Keep your rulebooks and any additional character notes nearby for options outside the current tools.
When you return
Sign in and open the campaign you are playing. The party records remain available between sessions; review resources and attendance before continuing. You do not need to create another campaign for each encounter.
